After rebuilding the 326 engine in my 59 coronet, my powerflite gearbox seems to have retired.
When i drive it, it shift from low to ...low again I filled it with new dexron III and have checked the pressures after the shop manual, no problems there.
The low and reverse works fine, and there is now delay when pushing in gears.

Any ideas?

You might check out the FSM and see what it says. It usually has a pretty good diagnostic section. Jerry

I jacked the car up and drove it with the rear wheels turning free, and discovered the drive gear kicks in.
At 2000rpm when it goes from low to drive, the speedometer rises. Butt the speed of the engine is to high.
At 50mph it goes at 4000rpm. I remember it was 2800rpm before.
