Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 13054 Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | My car had single exhaust so I didn't have one oem muffler hanger for to mount when I installed the dual exhaust system. I asked a company to make me two new when they had some time over............................... that was 4 weeks ago and they didn't even start on them, so I bought some material and made them myself. Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 13054 Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | It's 3 mm Herman - the oem one was 1/8" (3,15mm), and yes, it will work out just fine - I had to use a pipe extension on the vise to bend the hangers. I want to have the oem look without all the rust pittings. The original one was severly rusted out, but still held on for all those years. There will also be new balata belt for a good look and function.

Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 13054 Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | For some reason, the clamp in the original one acted like a sacrificial anode and it had rusted very thin, practiaclly broke into pieces when I tried to demount it. The hanger itself had very much surface rust, but, you're right Sid - it will still work for many years. It would not please me to have one nice and one bad.

Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 13054 Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | Made the holes and the final touch on my hangers. Now they will be primed and painted silver - there's no surface treatment company close to my Place. Expert 5K+ Posts: 5139 Location: cornpatch county, Southwest IOA | Wiz, You do excellent work. I wish there was someone close by that could do that well. I have a friend that can fix almost anything that is possible to fix, but He won't work on anything but his own stuff. He hates to charge anyone for the time it takes in doing so. Personally, I would gladly pay for that time because I know it would be done right...............................MO

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8444 Location: Perth Australia | Not sure anyone would want to pay to do them like that (by hand) Just to use my labour rate, assuming Wiz only worked for 8 hours/ day, that = AU$1840,00/ per hanger If anyone is interested in paying that much for them, please shoot me a line and I will sort it out Hey Wiz, might have a business proposition for you
