Elite Veteran Posts: 654 Location: NC | Announced as having a 318 engine. Showed underhood shot and it had dual 4 bbls but I was looking for the dist up front. I thought 58 Fury came with 350 GC only.

Expert Posts: 1886 | It was an older restoration. I dropped by on Saturday and looked over a few cars. I think 38k, meaning 42-43 by the time it was shipped to them, was a very strong price. It wasn't a top notch restoration and not a beater.

Location: Parts Unknown | I am sticking with my Plaza. It has the right amount of trim (none) and doors (four) AND it is a factory original Buzzard Puke Green car !!!

Veteran Posts: 124 | I like four door cars of any practically any breed, but especially Plazas. My Dad's 57 was the first car I ever rode in and the love is real. His had full wheel covers instead of dog dishes, which is kind of strange given it was a Plaza and a cop car. Maybe he put them on after he got it.

Expert Posts: 1288 | Lads -- Living up to my reputation as a maverick, though one whose "salad days" were actually spent in the years of The Forward Look, I must state my dlslike of any 4-dr, especially SEE-dans! Back in the day, they were the obvious ride of a married man and no high school boy or college man (the difference between the two is really a matter of semantics, not of maturity) absolutely hated being seen in such an old man's car. Even 2-dr posts (unless a rodded-up "shoebox" Ford or such) were the sign of a maiden aunt and perish the thought of having to drive a stationwagon! We "cool" guys (and you have no idea how hard we worked at being "cool"!) went for the nothing less than a 2-dr H/T or, preferably, a drop top. When asked about a car's "pick-up" back then, the question not only addressed the vehicle's power, but its ability to attract the fairer sex. Only recently, with the dearth of 2-dr H/Ts, verts, and 2-dr posts (but only those with the potential of being souped up or customized) have the flat tops and plain vanilla sedans become popular. Even now, I abhor the thought of a 4-dr with the rational that if someone other than me wants a rear door to get into the back, they should pay for that door, not me. That's why my wife's car is a 4-dr SUV, but my transportation is a 2-dr pickup. I'm really am just a product of age of The Forward Look. Joe Godec '57 Chrysler 300C (2-dr H/T, of course), '60 Fury SonoRamic (2-dr H/T -- what else?!), '65 Vette Fuelie (definitely a red convertible) Edited by Sonoramic60 2015-11-22 12:36 PM

Expert Posts: 1207 Location: Ponder, TX | Joe, I guess we are among the few, but I'll never own another 4-door anything...with one exception. We have a Town & Country van for chores, but since the kids were small, everything else has been a 2-door. having four doors on a fun vehicle is like putting two saddles on a horse. It might be easier for friends to ride, but it just doesn't seem right!

Expert Posts: 1886 | I love a 4 door hardtop. Especially on these bigger cars. Lebarons are awesome. I have a lot of 2 doors, a few 4 doors, a few wagons and a few convertibles. I love being able to pole people into a car. Different strokes for different folks.

Expert Posts: 1231 Location: York County, PA | Joe & Gary; I to am from that time period and I had a 1960 Dodge Dart 4dr. HT with the 318 High performance engine that would blow the doors off stock Cheby 350's. I didn't have to get out of the car to let people into the back seat. Looking at photos and post cards from the time period the 2-dr HT's and converts might have been "cool" but not prominent nor representative of the era or THE American family car. "kids" always lust after the performance versions and converts but when they acquired them they drove them straight into the junkyards in short order. I love to see all types of these cars but the originals in any body configuration is what I love best.

Expert Posts: 2003 Location: Branson, MO | Ok, ok.......the last 10 or 11 posts have nothing to do with the '58 Fury that started this thread. So back to the '58 Fury and my opinion - I think the '58 is hands down the best looking FL Fury ever and I like 'em factory original the best as well.

Expert Posts: 1622 Location: Seville, OH | Just curious, but how much does the 350 GC option increase the value of a 58 Fury. 10%, 20%?
