Are the stainless trim bits that run along the side panels of a 57 Firesweep 2-door shared/same as other Desotos? I am looking for some trim parts but I am unsure if they are unique to the 57 firesweep 2-door. These would be the stainles strips that start at the front fenders and run to the rear of the car. Thanks!

I believe the moldings are the same as the other '57 DeSoto 2 door models except for the front fenders. The Firesweep is shorter on a Dodge chassis with the difference in length being the front clip and frame from the cowl forward. The wheelbase is 4 inches shorter too.

That's a big help. Thanks for the input. Shame though I am look especially for the bit on the front fender.

Anyone have any success reusing the original molding clips? Mine where mostly rusted away, and I bought some universal ones off ebay which seem to work well.

Don't use the old rusted clips. If the new ones work satisfactorily, use 'em - they won't be seen and will undoubtedly last longer and work better.
