Location: N.W. Fla. | The Edelbrock has the same bolt pattern as the WCFB, but the bore holes in the intake are smaller. You'll need to take off the intake & open up the bore holes (will improve breathing, good idea), or get an adaptor (squeeze plate to funnel down from big to little, Hot Heads www.hothemiheads.com has them. |

Location: Peoples Republic of Oregon | I'll second the idea of opening the bores....but actually, you move the bore centers to match the later carb pattern.
A spacer is still quite often needed in order for the carb linkage to clear the manifold. This also allows using both Holley and 'Carter' carbs.
The Trans-Dapt 2280 is the best choice. We typically clean the manifold, bolt on the adapter and secure it with adhesive as well as the four screws, and then bore through the adapter as well as the manifold. This approach make alignment easier on a manual milling machine. We have modified many of these manifolds with excellent results on a variety of power levels.
In the states these spacers are easy to find at swap meets, many in the $5 range. |
