New User Posts: 3 | I am new to this forum, and relatively new to Mopar products as well. I have always admired the Imperial sedans of the late 50's and early 60's. I have located what appears to be a nice, fairly complete, 1960 Imperial LeBaron. I am wondering if some of the folks on this forum would give me some advice/opinions on this car. Like I said, I am fairly new to Imperials, most of my experience is with Cadillacs of the late 50's. One thing I am concerned about is finding the correct hubcaps for the car if I purchased it. Then again I am not sure if those are even the correct rims. And thoughts, advice, opinions, etc. are welcome. Thank you! Location: Under the X in Texas | The car looks VERY NICE. The LeBaron exact wheel covers are extremely but not impossible to find. There are several LeBarons running around with the standard '60 Imperial wheel covers which are often available on ebay and elsewhere. What I think I see in the photos is the aftermarket chrome wheel looking hubcaps that were offered in the late '60s. I think it was the Mercury Comet sport model that first offered those in '65. The factory wheels have to have the exclusive Imperial 5 on 5.5" bolt pattern and they are ventilated to aid brake cooling. The 15"wheels fit several years of Imperials from '55 through I think 64 with the exception of '57 and '58 which were 14". Ask for a picture with one of the perceived wheel covers removed.

New User Posts: 3 | Thank you "Still Out There". Your wheel information is helpful. I am planning to go look at the car in person, it's only about 2 1/2 hours away from me, and will check that it has the correct wheels. One thing I noticed was the passenger seat back is higher than the drivers. It's hard to tell in the pictures I posted but it is. I thought the drivers seat back was the high one. Perhaps they just got the two mixed up when they redid the interior. I actually have one 1960 LeBaron wheel cover, and found another one with a reasonable price online, however, the plastic emblems in the center would need to be restored. Anyone know of someone that does that or makes reproduction? Lastly, is anyone willing to share their thoughts on what the car is worth? The "asking" price is $35,500, but it also says "or best offer". I was thinking the $20,000 range is more accurate. Any thoughts?

Expert Posts: 2312 Location: Arizona | Does that car have both front and rear dual a/c? The underhood hoses for the AC have a T in them that would suggest it does. I can't quite tell in the photos if there are vents in the rear package shelf.

Elite Veteran Posts: 943 | The car looks beautiful. 1960 Lebarons are simply stunning cars, and very fun. I own 4 of them, they are a personal favorite of mine. This is a Southampton (hardtop) 1 of 999. It appears to have every option or close to it which is fairly unusual even on a Lebaron. Totally restored ones done correctly will hit 50k. Hard to tell from the photos exactly how nice it is. At 35k I would want the right hubcaps on it. As mentioned above they are difficult but not totally impossible to find. George Laurie makes the centers. Feel free to PM me if you'd like. Garrett

New User Posts: 3 | Here are a couple of more pictures I found of this car. In one of the pictures I saw it appeared to have dark plexiglass sun visors. Was that an option or accessory? Elite Veteran Posts: 943 | Pleixglass sunvisors someone would have added much later, probably when they restored the car. And that seat should be reversed, very strange, the driver is supposed to be higher....

Expert Posts: 1886 | I'm unaware of any restored 4 door imperial going for 50k, any references for that? I don't see that car being anywhere NEAR 35k. Half that.

Elite Veteran Posts: 836 Location: Layton, Utah | It looks like a low mile original car that has had a paint job, tires and some interior work. So just from the pictures I would say its not restored, so 20-25K. It does look like a very cool, unique car that will turn heads everywhere. Hopefully its not rusty at all under that paint. I would bet its not. It looks like a garage kept car most if not all of its life. DeSoto lives !!!

Elite Veteran Posts: 943 | Yes there was a Lebaron Sedan that sold for that a few years back I believe a hardtop also overseas. They are saved somewhere on my computer I will try to dig them out. These aren't 15k-20k for nice ones anymore. 60 & 61 Lebarons have gained a lot of popularity.
