Picked up a 65 poly with a 727 behind it today at a swap meet and it was a cable shift/slip spline tranny, I know it's a 65 right? But a few years back I stripped a 65 Coro for parts and it was a 273/904 with a b/t and orig to the car. When I asked the guy with the 273 car "Hey I thought 65's were all s/spline" he said "no just the big blocks".So is it 65 727's or a mid year thing or was the 904 a fluke? I might put this tranny in a FL or sell it to someone who might want it so don't shoot me for the B-body ?? on a FL site.

Only the 727 (big block and small block) got the slip yoke in '65, the 904 retained the B&T and changed to the slip yoke in '66.
