Location: little rock, AR | We don't see a lot of these FL cars on this site. I've been looking at a '61 or it maybe a '62 Lancer Wagon. I may own a TOAD someday.

Location: So. Cal | A lancer wagon? Grab it. They are great looking cars - especially the '61. The main differences are the front grille and the dash design. There are a number of us on this site that owns these forward-look A-bodies. This is my '61.

Location: little rock, AR | I believe that is the year that I looked at. /6 3 onda tree. I was trying to Bundle it with a '57 4dr Plymouth that was completely hidden with over growth. Lets see the dash pics.

Location: So. Cal | Here is the pic of my dash, the red one. A great looking arrangement, but unfortunately, they changed the design in '62 and it wasn't nearly as neat.

Location: little rock, AR | The 1 that I looked at was a 3 onda tree and I didn't really look at the dash. I was more concerned with hole in the floor pan. |

Location: MN | My dad sold Dodges in 61, in the fall of 60 I allegedly learned to drive using a 61 Lancer blue metallic 770 stick shift on the floor, loved driving it. From there dad had a 61 green 170 Lancer wagon auto, which I drove on the ice to the fish house. The first car I drove after I got my license was a 61 black Lancer 170 stick, oh what great cars love to have one in my shed. |

The 1962 Valiants and Lancers had column shift for the 2 speed manual transmission. The 1960-61 Valiants and 1961 Lancer had floor shift.
The 1962 instrument panel was actually the same for both Valiant and Lancer. The Lancer had black gauges with white numbers while Valiant was the other way around. The bezel on the Lancer was a little fancier than the Valiant, but both were one piece plastic in black and chrome.
The 1960-61 Valiants had a shrunken 1960 Imperial instrument cluster which I like, but the 1961 Lancer was a great looking design. It has a Forward Look appearance.
The rear taillight housings and lenses were different in 1962, but the clean 1961 grille is the best of the 1960-62 Valiant and Lancer grilles.
Can remember the 1961 Lancer being written up in the various magazines of the error before they were introduced. Was rather disappointed they weren't going to be sold in Canada. Chrysler of Canada built only the Valiant (and it was sold as Valiant, not Plymouth Valiant, from 1960 through 1966) and sold it at both Plymouth and Dodge dealers.
Would love to have a 1961 Lancer 770 hardtop.

| I always liked the look of the 1960 Valiant grille best ,These cars where loaded with style compared to there plain competitors from brand C and F. |

Location: NY & VT | Always liked these cars, a good friend's father had a white '60 or 61 Valiant wagon with floor shift he bought new, had many a ride in it. Next door neighbor's son Jimmy had a baby blue 62 Lancer GT with bucket seats... sharp! |

Yeah, I can't remember ever seeing one with PW. A friend bought a 61
Lancer GT coupe at my urging. White with red interior. I believe it was
a stick car (?). He drove it for years, but was not the type to do major
fixing, so as it began to act up, he sold it and got something else. As was
said here above, these cars really had some styling. Falcons were really
dull from 60 to 62, and Corvairs remain on my top ten list of ugliest cars
ever built.  |

Location: NM USA | Hi I'm new to site and glad to find info on these cars as I just picked one up, it's a 61 770 2 dr ht pretty complete but missing glove-box door and seats if any one knows where I could find these I'd be grateful for the help. It has been sitting in the high mountains of Co. for 20 years but if I'm lucky it might at least start the leaning tower of power is at least free! |

Location: Parts Unknown | Photos need to be under a certain size, or the system will kick it back. You need
to do this with your photo program ...
Once you have the photo ready, hit "reply" to post, type your message, and before
you hit "submit", click the box down below that says "attach a file after posting".
Hit "submit", and a new window will appear that allows you to select a photo wherever
you have it hiding. Once selected, hit "submit". This will bring up another window
that tells you if your upload was successful and offers a "return to thread" option.
Click it, and go see your post and photo.

Location: Arizona | There are a couple choices for the "reply" window that people can pick from when they setup their account. For one of them there is the "attach" option, for the other one there isn't. If you have selected the choice where the "attach" option isn't there you can just go ahead and make the post of the message and then immediately go back to it, select "Edit" and when the edit window opens you will have the option to "attach" photos. Or you can go to your account setting and pick the other choice for replies and then you get the attach option right away. |
