Location: D-70199 Heslach | I have some foam in the steering pump, is that normal or has the oil the wrong viscosity?

Location: Branson, MO | You have air in the system. A couple of bubbles is not totally uncomon but foam is definitely a problem. You need to purge the system by filling the reservoir (keep the fluid level full while turning the wheel full right to full left back and forth slowly but not hold it against the bump stops) until the foam and bubbles are gone. Once the foam is gone and you don't have to refill the reservoir any more, just top it off to the right amount and drive the car normally for awhile and recheck the level. If it's down, refill to the proper level and drive again. If it keeps going down, you have a leak somewhere and it will have to be fixed. The lower the fluid level gets, the more apt you will get air back in the system and foam will return.

Location: Netherlands | That oil is burned.
Should be reddish, like ATF (or 'be' ATF), not brown.
