I met a nice couple at a recent car show in Columbus, Ohio who own a Valiant that the gentleman purchased new.
He had let it sit in storage for the past decade or two until he discovered how popular they are now with many folks.
So he started restoring it, and is almost done. He does the work himself.
The car drew quite a crowd.

You may be correct, Ian. I didn't get to ask the owner all of the questions I had; he was a popular dude.
He didn't have all of the 'scripts back on the car either.
I'll likely see him again at the same show next year and hopefully he will have the car all done by then.

Yes, it is a 1962 Plymouth Savoy. The only name that appears on the car is "Plymouth" as the Savoy was the cheapest Plymouth.
The Valiant had a wheelbase that was about ten inches shorter than the Plymouth, and had a sloping rear end.
The 1962 Plymouth and its companion the 1962 Dodge Dart were thought by many to look too much like a Valiant. So it's not surprising you thought the car was a Valiant.
