A couple more updates. The tires (and hubcaps) are on the car and it's never looked better! Also I've gotten some of the car in primer because I am repainting it the original colors (regatta blue metallic as the primary color and horizon blue as the secondary) what's been primed so far is both doors on the drivers side, and the entire front clip. I hope to be done with painting by the middle or end of this month. Also another big thanks to my good friend Ryan (61_imperial) for having the good glass that I need. Hope you all enjoy!

Jacob

what parts do you still need? I am scrapping a 57 soon.

I think my drivers window is tinted.

I also have a dash radio face.

Looks great Jacob. You are a lot closer to new paint than I am!

I don't need any more glass. I do however need a few emblems. I need the rear emblem that goes on the trunk, and I also need the two hood ornaments. I'll pm you if you have any of those pieces.

The priming begins! I hope to have most of the car primed by the end of the week. If it continues to go how it did today, the car is going to look pretty sweet in my opinion.

Very impressive, Jacob!

I think that we "older" F.L. folks all agree that having a young man like yourself so interested in cars makes us very happy indeed.

Best of luck with your great Windsor, and with your studies at McPherson. A couple of the guys who work(ed) there have helped me out with my old car.

Keep us posted!

Great looking car! Sedans are so underrated it seems. Nice to see one getting some proper attention instead of being turned into a parts car.

I love my sedan too much to turn it into a parts car! Even though when I began working on it, it probably should have been one. I've brought it back enough now that it's fun to enjoy and get many head turns/thumbs up at shows and on the road.

Second to last update on paint for now, roof and trim sweeps are painted red primer and the rest is stripped to original paint and am coating the bare spots with ospho on Monday. I'm putting in my new windshield and getting my transmission serviced in the next few weeks before I got back up to college to continue priming and painting in a good paint booth.

Compare now to what it used to look like with about 7 coats of terrible paint!

You are well on your way to one sweet ride. Keep up the great work and posts along the way. Can hardly wait to see the finished product.

Wow, those wheels are looking really good on there. Makes me a little jealous!

Now is the perfect time to weld up the holes from the old side view mirrors and mount the proper mirrors in the right positions on the front fenders. You can get good used mirrors reasonably cheap on ebay.

I've got two correct mirrors and I've actually done exactly that! They're ready to go back on the car when it's finally done with paint.

Cosmetics are done for a few weeks now. Painted tail lights and headlight buckes. Plus put the rear bumper back on! I think it looks sweet

Hey, if you're looking for parts, I just came across this 57 on Craigslist for only $150, and it's just outside of Houston Texas: https://houston.craigslist.org/cto/5728188860.html

Funny you mentioned that, my friend and I actually picked up that car today.

Great improvement. Keep on this way. The white walls and the original wheel covers will improve the look of the car a lot!
