I have a 6V system. I tried going to a breakerless ignition, but the car would not start when the engine was hot. It started fine after cooling down. So I went back to points and it ran OK. Then I replaced the old coil with a new one from an antique Mopar seller. Same problem. I had to tow it back to my house when it wouldn't start after getting hot. I put the old coil back in and it seems to work ok. Is it just bad luck? I guess I'm OK as long as nothing happens to my coil, but I'm wondering if there is something marginal elsewhere in the system.
