I need to buy a new fuel sending unit to my 1956 Chrysler.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1949-1956-PLYMOUTH-DODGE-DESOTO-CHRYSLER-GA...

in the title of the auction it is 1949-1956, in the description 1949-1955
I am not sure that 1955 gas tank sending unit works in 1956 car?
6 volt or 12 volt electrical system is important?

With the exception of wagons, '55 and '56 Chryslers use the same sending unit P/N 1627298

6v vs. 12v does make a difference for the gauge, but the sending unit is just a resistor and could be carried over from '55-'56.
