Someone has asked me where to get the power steering gearbox for his 1962 Newport rebuilt. Anyone out there have a suggestion?

Steer and Gear can do it too but Firm Feel is better to deal with IMO. True Mopar guys.

I've had multiple units done by Lares corp. with good results.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but did anyone upgrade the "feel" of their box when it was rebuilt? If so, what level of firmness did you go with?

I went with stock feel because I dislike the 'firm' feel of modern cars....I like how I can toss around a big car with one finger.

I agree. I drove a friend's car with a firm feel rebuild from steer and gear. I thought it just increased steering effort, didn't improve the way the car handled. I wouldn't hesitate to send a box to them for rebuild but I would specify stock feel. That light steering is part of the character of these cars.

I sent my box to Steer and Gear and $425 and two weeks later they sent me back a box that leaked. Funny, it didn't leak when I sent it to them.

You'd think for that kind of coin they could pressure test it before they send it back.

You can also work with the pump pressures for feel:
