I have a few bent pushrods in my 61 Pioneer with a 313 poly. I have a complete 301 poly in a 57 Plymouth. Is there a chance the pushrods could be the same? Most rebuild kits say 301,313,318 as the same. Any body know??
Steve
61 is solid lifter and 57 is too?

Snippet from a site:

There is a possibility that one bolt hole in the bellhousing area may be a little different on earlier versions.

Poly and LA camshafts are different due to the different valve arrangement
Poly lifters were solid. Except for early LA 273 engines, all LA lifters were hydraulic.
Poly "A" Pistons are different due to the different cam timing, so the valve reliefs are in the wrong places for LA engines.
Intake manifolds are different
Exhaust manifolds are different

So I was kinda thinking the same thing that they should be the same. Out to the parts car tomorrow and pull the valve cover off and retrieve some. Just wanted to get a few opinions before I trudge through snow to where the 57 is and pull apart a complete engine. I have the 61 engines intake and valve covers off for a 4 barrel and igniting up date and was going to set the valves as they are kind of clacking when I found a few bent pushrods on the looser ones.
Thanks for the reply
