Location: Hayward, Calif | Hey Guys, ( 59 Dodge ) Are those coil springs necessary that go behind the door & window handles ? I only have 1. Will there be any adverse affects if I don't use them. I think they go behind the upholstery panel. I made new panels that I got from the upholstery shop & they seem to put some pressure on the handles allready. I made those plastic washers that go directly behind the handles as they were missing also. Thanks, Jerry |

Location: So. Cal | They are only there to ensure that the panel fits snugly against the handle at all times. The washers ensure that the handles don't mar the panel as you turn them. If you feel you have enough pressure already, I don't see any harm in leaving them out - except that you may lose them if you ever change your mind. |

Location: Hayward, Calif | I'l check it out a little closer. If it looks like it could use a little more pressure on the handles I'l pick up some generic springs at the hardware store. Thanks, Jerry |
