Location: New Castle PA | 8 and 9 look the same to me, but appear to be what's needed for the front shoes on 1957 DeSoto Firedomes, Fireflites, and Adventurers. Hard to say for sure without details of lengths, wire diameter, etc. if they're exact matches, but they sure LOOK correct. How large is your supply? If my guess is confirmed by other sources, I'd be interested in purchasing a set if the price isn't out of sight. |

Location: Under the X in Texas | There are many different brake shoe return springs and they better be correct to get correct pedal feel when being applied and quickly remove drag when the pedal is released. Number of coils plus overall length (attachment points) and most importantly wire diameter are going to be the determining factors. If your old comparison original springs have any space between coils, they are worn out. Coils should be tightly compressed against each other. |
