As part of that commitment, we’re announcing some changes to the eBay User Agreement. Our updated User Agreement will take effect on September 19, 2017 for new users and on November 1, 2017 for all other users. The updated User Agreement was posted on eBay.com on September 19, 2017. The key update to the eBay User Agreement is that we’ve made it clearer how we address violations of our policy on offers to buy or sell outside eBay. Sellers who violate this policy may be charged a final value fee for the applicable item, even if it doesn’t sell. Thank you for being a part of the eBay community. Sincerely, The eBay team

Expert Posts: 3889 Location: Northen Virginia | I recently sold a radio, Paypal collected me $45.00 dollars fee which include a fee on the shipping overseas (I had not gain on shipping cost), which is about 5% of the final value, still no bad. Yesterday, I received an Ebay invoice for final value fee for $89.00 WTF! and that money it is automatically collected from your Paypal account. So Ebay+Paypal=$134.00 But that is not all, the money can not be transferred to your bank for another 25 days or until the buyer receive his product. In my case the buyer want the radio face re-chromed before I can ship it out and that can take about 2 moths.. Now, go and figure why sellers are looking for outside deals.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 7410 Location: northern germany | about 15+ years ago i was an ebay fanatic. it still was like a huge worldwide flea market. now i search and buy rarely on ebay and stopped selling. they screwed everything up. not to mention their greed and their fraudulent GSP and dollar/euro exchange rates. i contacted them several times about their fraudulent sky high "import tax/duty" charges for items that actually not charged under german law. of course to no avail. and of course they do not supply any custom papers with the delivery. if this is not theft, i do not know what is. Expert Posts: 3889 Location: Northen Virginia | In the other hand for buyers sometimes it works. I purchased a rare 16-2/3 Highway Hi-FI record player for a customer conversion The Ebay seller assured me that it was in good shape, even that the pictures weren't very clear. Unfortunately for me, after the unit arrived, it was complete rusted solid, the only functional part was the front door, the rest was complete unsaleable, and the only part I need from the inside which was the sliding shelf was also rusted solid. Imagine try to restore the original mechanism of something like this. After the seller refuse to accept the return, I contacted Ebay and I sent it back and I got a full refund of my customer money..
