The car looks kind of rough around the edges to me. A cosmetic restoration. What is the extra panel under the rear bumper? This one has been on eBay for a little while now. It's also been discussed on a couple of the Facebook groups so maybe you're recognizing it from there? The mudflap under the rear bumper was on 57-59 Imperials. The black mudflap material gets brittle and torn easily. It doesn't take much to rip them off after that Finding a good mudflap is probably like finding a good DeSoto trunk mat This Imperial is one of those cars that looks "OK" from a distance or to someone unfamiliar with Imperials. The easiest way to eyeball bodywork on 57-59 Imperials is to see if the quarter panel is flush with the lower edge of the bumper (359270_04b1f7b9091b_low_res.jpg) (1958_Imperial_Quarter.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 359270_04b1f7b9091b_low_res.jpg (77KB - 80 downloads) 1958_Imperial_Quarter.jpg (168KB - 85 downloads)

Veteran Posts: 145 | The body man has some talent, he did a pretty good job in making the quarters match.
