Has anyone purchased the re-pops of these deflectors? I am wondering about the look and quality. Stainless make a lot more sense than chrome.

I purchased a set of them and they look real nice. I didn't mount them yet, but you may want some gasket between the bumper and tip to prevent vibrational contact through the exhaust.

Sorry that the repro is not done better. This item should be done by Jan Fridberg.  - SERGE -

they aren't horrible, they are stainless and you cant see that unless your underneath the car

I like the stainless steel though better, no rust.

Mine were more polished than what you show, but do have the seams as shown. I agree that stainless is a lot better.

There is no question of material, mainly on workmanship.
As well no question of horrible, appears just somewhat different as the original.

It looks that they used a stainless steel (chrome-nickel-steel) quality with a higher percent of nickel,
to be softer for manufacturing, but with a more yellow aspect, noticeable when mounted on the rechromed bumper.
This material can directly be rechromed without any under-coating (after a top polish!), what is highly recommended.

Then, on top view, the difference becomes hardly visible, this repro will look very nice and you will enjoy much more.  - SERGE -

I am still undecided if I will even use the pair that I purchased. They ruin the look of the back end of the car in my opinion. The '58 Dodge is such a muscular looking car, but these make it look more pansy.

I think the chrome pair I bought from Canadian Tire with some help from 56D500boy will look sharper but it's still not stock. Really at that price at best they will be in the trunk on display under guard at a car show…..who needs the stress. "A Little Barrett-Jackson Lighting" these look pristine and reasonably priced.

Sold at $1,404.00 + $20 shipping.

I wonder if the re-pops negatively affected the ending price? Still seems like a pretty strong price, though.

This was a thread from 2015 where a NOS set sold for $2,025

That's insane. I can think of a lot better ways to spend your extra $1100.

I sold the guy the cores that he then had replated. I don't think he got his money back at $1,404; but at least he recovered some of his investment. I love the look of the chrome ones versus the reproduction stainless.

The seller claimed he had over $2000 into them. Librandi does very good work.

Glen, I think what I used now and showed in my thread looks to be the same ones?

I already sent you some links. In the meantime I got them and mounted already.
