Member Posts: 9 Location: Austin TX | New member selling this for my dad, who isn’t very tech savvy. (Also looking to sell our family's 1955 Fireflite Coronado at some point in the future) I have one passenger side bumper guard, I believe the Mopar part # is 1612379 Fits all 1955 De Soto Fireflite and Firedome models except station wagon. Some light scratching on the left-hand side along with some minor pitting; would look really nice with a quick polish. Can email more pics if desired. Asking $80 (copy circled desoto bumper.jpg) (copy bumper2.JPG) Attachments ---------------- copy circled desoto bumper.jpg (231KB - 38 downloads) copy bumper2.JPG (86KB - 46 downloads)

Perversely, 1612 379 (an odd number usually associated with left side parts) is indeed the right outer 55 Desoto rear bumper guard. 1612 380 would be the left (usually even = right side). Desoto looks great. *VERY* mid-50's colours, black and turquoise (probably "Coronado Green") Edited by 56D500boy 2018-05-26 7:07 PM

The car is pretty nice to look at, and you're correct about the "Coronado Green" color, which we are pretty sure is the original coat of paint. From what I understand, the Coronado's all had that particular paint color as one of the three, usually as the primary color, with white side panels and black on top. I think it looks better with the black sides and a white top, but I'm biased since that's the color scheme our particular Coronado.

Turns out that I saw your dad's car at Hermosa Beach in May 2017: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=65515&... Edited by 56D500boy 2018-05-26 11:17 PM

Member Posts: 9 Location: Austin TX | Ha! Yep that's him, undoubtedly talking about the car's finer points to anyone who will listen. He was something of a hot rodder back in the 50s, and says his teenage self would NEVER have been caught with such an "old man" car back in 1955. But it fits him quite well now.
