Location: Denver, Colorado, USA | I'm looking for a right (passenger) outside rearview mirror assembly with casting 1616-RH with good chrome and mirror/glass. I beleive the mirror is distinct to the Dodge since the Chrysler, DeSoto, Imperial, and Plymouth look different. The mirror is distinct in that the inside (toward the hood) of the base has a raised ledge, while the outside of the base doesn't. I took these photos of my 1956 Dodge left mirror and flipped them horizontally to show what the right mirror looks like. While I'm particularly interested in the mirror assembly (base and mirror), I'll consider the mirror assembly and fender plate since mine has a dent.
If you have a 1616-RH mirror assembly, please private message me. Thanks.

Location: Denver, Colorado, USA | Thanks, Dave. I included 1955 because I've seen multiple 1955s in person and online with the 1956 right-hand mirror that aren't original to the car. I might luck out and find one from a 1955. If needed, I can metal-work the ding out of my plate since I'm having everything on the car re-chromed while I do the bodywork and paint.
I've been watching ebay for some time, and the only one on there now has too many chrome and mirror issues for the price. I purchased a nice one off ebay last year, but the deal fell through when the seller didn't ship the item. If I can't find a righthand 1956 Dodge mirror, I'll likely go with a pair of Chrysler-style #1615 mirrors and file the bases if needed for fitment since both original and reproductions are much more plentiful than the 1956 Dodge mirror. |
