V8 but it looks like a Dodge V8. I know Plymouth used Dodge V8s in 1955 but I thought by 56 they had the first "B" engines, with the saw tooth valve covers. (??)

Actually I don't know how that happened. I thought that I was just editing the first post, adding a couple of photos and comment. It was only late last night that I noticed that there were two threads, not one. When I tried to remove (delete) the one with the fewer photos and comments, I was not permitted to do so. Sorry. I tried.

Location: Alaska | The car is probably an early build. The Dodge 270 engine was used at least in early 56 in the Plymouth. likewise some early 57 Plymouths used the 277 engine. |

VIN: 15939533
Detroit 56 V8 Savoy VINs went from 15,873,001 to 16,080,450 so fairly early but NOT real early as in using up the 55 V8s early.
