Elite Veteran Posts: 629 Location: Lubbock, TX | Sold for $203k including commissions. I had to do some record searching, but finally confirmed this is my old car. A beauty restored by Greg Groom in 2010 and I let it go in 2014. Still a stunning car and a crowd favorite! https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1957-DESOTO-ADV... -Peter

Expert Posts: 1886 | This is my old car. I had to trade it plus cash to get my Dads 72 pro stock car. I purchased it at BJ about 3 years ago for 125, then traded it soon after. Car was a mess when I got it, wouldn't run worth a flip. I was there tonight when it ran.

Elite Veteran Posts: 629 Location: Lubbock, TX | Yeah, I heard that the guy who bought it in 2015 from BJ had no idea how to tune carbs. So I'm not surprised it needed some help. Glad you were able to get it sorted out! ~Peter

Expert Posts: 1906 Location: Ontario, Canada | Thanks for the reply, Peter. I asked because years ago I passed on a very similar car with A/C. It was an absolutely rust free original car and I simply didn’t have the cash to buy it (it wasn’t cheap back then). I have kicked my ass for years for not making it happen! When I saw this post I thought, well maybe, I could trace the ownership for the car I COULDN’T afford at the time. I can still close my eyes and see that beauty!! It was not the same car but I am envious that you had many years of enjoyment from very similar models. Greg

Expert Posts: 3889 Location: Northen Virginia | I remember I had a NOS in the Mopar box Carburetor for this car and nobody in the USA want it for $225.00, finally after a third time listing it on ebay one guy in Sweden bought it. He said it was for a car exactly like this one and he couldn't believe it when arrived to his hand, it was the first NOS part he ever saw in the original box. At that time i was looking for any NOS carb for my 57 Imperial and I purchased anything that may remotely fit, this carb was one of them. Carlise used to be be an incredible source for NOS parts.
