Got a phone call from a friend who ordered new Monroe front shocks for his '57 DeSoto but received front shocks for a '55/'56. He said they can't be used or returned. They are new and he'd like to get $50 for them. Please call him directly, as that's all I know. Alan (in Ohio) 330-716-2015.

If you buy them, please let me know, though, so I won't keep trying to help him sell them!

Thanks!

Ed: Ask your friend for the model number of the shocks and post it here.

Hmmm. He gave me the numbers, but said he thought they were Monroe but it doesn't say that on the box. Number is 738018. When I check that with a search, I find a gas-charged shock sold by Carquest. All I can tell you is if you'r'e interested, call the guy and double-check things. I have no idea what a '55 or '56 DeSoto shock should look like.
