I have a 61 413 out of imperial I would like
to rebuild for 61 Plymouth.

I have a late 60s 383 with what I believe has a
1962 A-745 3 speed behind it. It has parking brake
drum on end of trans. Complete with shifter and bell housing

I know there is a difference beetween
crankshafts on 61 and older 413s
I would like use 61 date correct block

The question is - if I were to put a 62 or newer
413 crankshaft in 1961 413 would it work?
I would have pilot bearing hole installed in crankshaft.

Would the 383 A745 flywheel then work with newer 413
Crankshaft?

Also Is there any parts source or rebuilder
who specializes in A745 transmissions that someone
can direct me to?
I’m having trouble finding inflo on A745 transmissions.

How different are 61 poly 318 3 speeds
from /6 and BB A745 3 speeds?

The 62 and newer 413 crankshaft is a bolt in swap to the older 413 block. The newer bell housing will also bolt up. You could also use the 426 wedge-440 Steel crankshaft but would have to rebalance the rotating assembly which is a good idea anyway. The later 440 crankshaft, IIRC from about 71-72 on is cast and could be used but would require the matching front damper and flywheel because it is externally balanced. The trans. should work as long as you are not racing.
