Location: Valley Forge, Pa.		This time it is the right tailgate screen. A really neat, possibly common accessory in 1960 but I can see why there are rare now. I was hoping I could just put the window down and slide the screen up the channel but you need to open the gate, slide the screen up and then raise the window to hold it up. So it might not be too practical if you are inside the rear compartment?

As bad as the rear view visibilty is to start in a Suburban, I am suprised it really doesn't impair it too much.

The pictures don't do it justice as it really does look good in place and it won't be necessary to raise and lower the window everytime I stop somewheres. If it isn't raining, I always have the window down so this will work well and it will look great at a show. It is heavy duty and would not just push in to gain access.

According to the instructions it is correct for 1957, 58 59, 60. The instructions were printed in 1959. 1961 uses same #. I thought the early widows were different?

I have another NOS screen that I bought as being for a 1960 but it is narrower. I've included a picture of the difference. About 2" narrower. Can anyone give me measurements of their glass for pre-1957 and or 1962 or up Suburban? This other one might not even be for a MOPAR?

Location: Valley Forge, Pa.		Sence the first time I saw one of these in an accessory booklet, I have wanted one and really am VERY happy to find one NOS for $200. Has to be WAY up there as a rarest option? It's not like a chrome piece or something that fits all 60 Plymouths or all 60 MOPARs and is put on and survives to the end of the car. How many options are spacific to the Suburban? 3rd seat, handles to climb in, rear P.W.. They were things you ordered because you had kids or ? but really, how many people would order a screen?

Unlike many options that survived[roof racks], how many USED screens are around? It has to be put in place, taken out and then stored cleanly when not in use. They are fairly fragile as far as storing. They HAD to be a pain in the butox, so a used one probably had a VERY short bent life span and doesn't exist? They are a bare aluminum frame so they would corrode quickly. Honestly, I was as willing to pay what others have paid for the 1960 Plymouth bumper guard because I believe these a LOT rarer?

I show a different part # for a 1959 #1881 869. I guess the installation info is generic for all years? If you get a chance, could you possibly get me a measurement for your 1959 rear window to see if my other one might be correct?

I know this is an old post but I can add something to it. I bough an NOS rear window that was supposed to be for a 1960 Chrysler. Turns out that it was for 1957-59. The width was the same and it fit in the tracks of the roof opening, but the difference was the curve at the top, or I should say the lack of curve. The 1957-59 windows are flat across the top where the 1960-64 have an arch. The reason 1961-64 windows are different than 1960 is that they do not have the metal trim around the edge of the glass.

Your narrower screen might be for the midsize wagons. If you still have it, I have a 1964 Dodge 440 wagon and the rear window is about 4 inches narrower than my 1960 Chrysler. I know these screens were made for other brands of wagons by the same manufacturer.
