Extreme Veteran Posts: 356 | Today I replaced the AC #40327 that appears to have been on the engine for a very long time. I replaced the Fuel Pump with an Airtek 4280 after I installed an E10 compatible kit (AC# R-305) purchased from Then & Now. Once I had the car running and checked for leaks I disassembled the AC pump. To my surprise, I see no deterioration of the diaphragm or the rubber in the valves from the effects of having used E10 Ethanol Blend. The federal government of Canada has mandated ALL automotive gasoline to contain a percentage on Ethanol so we can't get away from what we have to put in our cars. That is unless you want to find an airport that will fill you up with Low Lead Gas. Del S (IMG_7860 2.jpg) Attachments ---------------- IMG_7860 2.jpg (236KB - 23 downloads)

Expert 5K+ Posts: 7207 Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | You should try and resize your photos before posting them as well. Regarding the Ethanol gas in Canada, I was the guy that built the petition ##-4735 which closed today and now has to be read before the house. I was pretty disappointed that it only garnered 5324 signatures.

Del: Only you can edit your post and you only have 999 minutes since the post to make the edit. There should be an "EDIT" button when you open your post. Once you are in EDIT mode, go to the bit near the bottom where it asked if you want to add or delete a photo. Select Delete (I think twice) and then post the photo that you actually wanted. Expert 5K+ Posts: 9924 Location: Lower Mainland BC | . Del: The problem with NO EDIT is you originally posted with one device (tablet or laptop) and then tried to edit with the opposite device. The system didn't recognize the second device as the author of the posting so I did NOT give the second device EDIT rights. It might have worked if you logged into the system with the second device. The other problem is iPads create .jpeg files which this forum system does not post, just a downloadable link *IF* it is less than 250 kB. Here is your .jpeg photo converted to .jpg and resized to 1024 x 768: (DelSs4280Disassembly.jpg) Attachments ---------------- DelSs4280Disassembly.jpg (127KB - 21 downloads)

Extreme Veteran Posts: 356 | Now that I have cleaned the AC Fuel Pump up a bit better, there are now other numbers stamped or cast that I can find other than what I posted previously (40327) I have searched for this number with no success. I did come across a 40394 that fits a 1966 Chevy 2 or a Nova. This get me wondering if this same series AC was used on other vehicles like GM or Ford. Not that I really need to fix this one, I would if I could. If anyone has any idea who may have a kit please let me know. As the diaphragm is cracked it is a good thing I changed it out before it let me down on the road. I may just take the diaphragm apart as I have some Viton material of the correct thickness and make a diaphragm.
