Expert Posts: 2824 Location: Snohomish, WA. | I was coming back from a job Wednesday and as I went thru an intersection, caught an image that was unmistakeable. After turning around and going left, I stopped across the street to look it over. As I actually had my digital camera with me, I was going to take a couple of shots from the truck, and move on. But then a guy was in the yard (in an absolute downpour) so I got out and crossed the street to talk to him. He was the owners son, and knew all about the car. 440 sixpack, 65 Torque flite with an owner modified shift setup to keep the original push buttons operational. Posi rear end (8 3/4"). Soon the owner showed up, pleased as could be that someone had noticeed the car. He was absolutely beaming and kept saying how cool it was that someone knowledgeable on his car had stopped in to look at it. What doesn't show up in the pics are the very cool ghost flames on the fenders/doors and on the hood. The rain droplets covered it all in the pics. I really enjoyed the 45 minutes we stood in the rain and talked about the car. Neat folks. Mike

Location: Staffordshire, England | NICE! I've got the tach mounted in the same place on my wagon, using the old mirror hole, perfect position. Looks in good condition and must go like a train with the 440-6 in it.

Expert Posts: 2824 Location: Snohomish, WA. | I did invite him to the forum. He has no computer and no use for them. Said if he ever got one, he'd look for us. His son says the front end actually lifts off on a launch. Didn't get a good pic of the rear meats, but they are big! He's going to take the Cragars off and put some bigger wheels on. Mike

Expert Posts: 2011 Location: Ballwin, Missouri | Steve, that's the first thing I said when I saw it was a wagon. That is going to be a real surprise to some poor unsuspecting FOMOCO or GM at a stop light. I love it. NO MERCY - TAKE NO PRISONERS !!!!!!!! Sorry, that's the drag racer coming out in me again.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5139 Location: cornpatch county, Southwest IOA | Larry- not to hi-jack the thread, but that drag racing gets in your blood and never leaves. we raced a quick small block 66 chevelle when my son was in high school(early ninties) and I previously raced ( years ago) some others including a new 68 Roadrunner. I"m STILL tempted at stoplights occasionally ........................5%......

Expert Posts: 2478 Location: Dalveen, Queensland, Australia | With grunt like that, and with regular use of such a wagon in the modern age, what has he done with the brakes?

Expert Posts: 2824 Location: Snohomish, WA. | He was looking at SSB brake kits front and rear. Told him about AAJ in Portland, which is closer, and he was going to check them out. At one time he was going to take out the front suspension and put a Pacer front clip in, in order to get disks etc. but has thought bewtter of it. I told him how Sid runs his with basically stock suspension on the Autobahn, and he thought that was cool. Mike
