Elite Veteran Posts: 977 Location: Sydney, Australia | My windows have never been adjusted correctly when someone put all the parts back on blindfolded. Drivers side rear has the biggest problem. I decided to try and adjust and lube them. So after removing the rear seat, dead rat and side trim, I tried to adjust them but I had no idea how to do it except loosen and tighten bolts! As mentioned the rear drivers side is being a headache and I think it could be shot. As soon as it's 3/4 of the way up, it starts clicking and not going anywhere. I tried everything but failed. Does this sound like a shot regulator or bad adjustment? It goes down without a problem. Edited by matte 2017-01-06 5:36 AM

Both my windows did not work properly when I got the car. The former owner even told me they were stuck shut. After a lot of work on the driver's side, it now works great. I followed the procedure for adjustment described in here: http://www.imperialclub.com/Repair/Lit/Master/117/Page01.htm Here's a short clip I made of the operation once I got it to work well: https://youtu.be/sH-Zp1qBMrM I am having a lot of trouble on the passenger side, though, and I will have to spend another day on the matter I believe. But the more I work with these things, the more I think the problems are mainly adjustements. Almost all of the components are adjustable and a small difference in an adjustement will make a lot of difference in the operation. What I would recommend is to take out the components and separately evaluate their shape and working order. These regulators can become hard to operate and are known to fail. Elite Veteran Posts: 977 Location: Sydney, Australia | Thanks David. I also was trying to find a good close up photo or video of the rear quarter window closed so I could see exactly how it sat in relation to front side window(I've seen some sit right up against the front window trim), rear chrome window surround in relation to roof seal and lastly how far should the little angled chrome trim part of the rear window sit out and up(Great description) I found photo's but none that are close ups and all the detail I need. I even come across your walkaround video on YouTube. So is the clicking noise just a safety feature to stop it being forced or is my window reg on it's way out?

I would suspect the clicking is a problem with the regulator.. but if I were you, I would take it out or at least disconnect it from the window frame channel and test it without the weight of the window on it first to make sure.
