Extreme Veteran Posts: 306 | Hello Finny Friends! I was reading through the Kanter thread and wanted to find out how many folks had used them for brakes and if so, are you happy with the brakes? Alternatively if anyone else has used another vendor for brakes please let me know. NAPA does not have the drums we need to do my '60 Chrysler (they darn near had just everything else though and we are replacing almost everything, pretty amazing for a 47 year old car!!) An alternative would be to have the brakes we have now rebuilt locally which my mechanic was in favor of. If you've been there on this please let me know your thoughts and ideas... thanks everyone! Veteran Posts: 117 Location: OHIO | Scotty, I have used brake parts from Kanter. Parts I replaced on my 1957 Chrysler New Yorker. Brake Hoses-Wheel Cylinders-Master Brake Cylinder and Brake Shoes and front Wheel Seals. Yes! I am satisfied with their parts and my brakes work very well. I would buy from them again. Prices were good also! Paul

Extreme Veteran Posts: 306 | It's scary jumping in with dealing with a company you don't know anything about, so I really appreciate hearing this. Sounds like you really did the works so if you are happy with them that says alot. I never expected to get some input this fast either, awesome. My mechanic is in the groove and really getting involved in the project now so it will be great to be able to move quickly. By the way I have a real soft spot for '57 Chryslers as I grew up with one, my grandparents always had Chrysler Corporation cars and my favorite of them all was the '57 Windsor, a real beauty in Cloud White with a Gauguin Red roof and sweep. My grandmother (Gran) learned to drive on that car as a matter of fact. A really bad accident with weeks of recovery in the 1930s made her not want to learn to drive, but one look at that push-button transmission and all those fears just disappeared! Here is a picture of the car, taken in Florida in 1959! I'm in Ohio too, so I hope to see you and your New Yorker out and about sometime! Thanks again! Extreme Veteran Posts: 306 | I gave NAPA less credit than they were due in my previous posting, they had everything we needed EXCEPT none of the brake shoes which I will be checking on with Kanter tomorrow. Also, I'm not seeing any more photos of my grandparent's 1957 Windsor in my pictures at the moment. I'm going to be visiting my folks this weekend however and will look around, I am pretty sure there are some more good shots around somewhere.

Veteran Posts: 180 Location: san ramon, CA | I got them from AAJ Brakes ( http://www.aajbrakes.com/ )... Took a little while to get the parts, but they went in pretty smoothly... Here's a couple pics of them installed: (disc_front_sm.JPG) (disc_rear_sm.JPG) Attachments ---------------- disc_front_sm.JPG (99KB - 164 downloads) disc_rear_sm.JPG (92KB - 147 downloads)

Expert ,, George Passed away July 28th 2021, He will be Missed Posts: 1295 Location: Twin Falls, Idaho | I agree.... AAJ brakes are terrific. I have them on both front and rear of my 57 300C coupe. It stops better than my 2003 Dodge Ram truck. Talk to Roger..... he is a great guy and always extremely helpful.

I had my rear shoes relined at a local shop...turned out great, and cost $60 Canadian. For the front I adapted 80's Chrysler 11" rotors and calipers, rather than using AAJ's kit...but in hindsight the kit would have been easier and just about as cheap.
