Anyway, that's a Top of the Line 1959 New Yorker sedan. Glass is tinted, so it might have A/C. Looks like somebody 'took' a corner too sharply and hit a curb. Wouldn't it be neat to discover 'this' car, now, in 'this' condition?

Expert Posts: 3480 Location: Montreal, Canada | This one is on eBay now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1958-Desoto-Fireflyte-2-Door-Sportsman-Deal... By the way, you Desoto specialists (Doc? Ed?), what's the story on the body trim, when the car is monotone, as this one? I've seen monotone Desotos with only the upper side trim, and some examples, like this one here, with the lower moulding too.. Extreme Veteran Posts: 384 Location: Hershey PA | From 1955-59, DeSoto offered a sweep and two-toning as separate options. One could get a monotone car with a sweep; one could get a car without a sweep but with a roof in a different color than the body Obviously the best combination would be a sweep with the roof and insert in contrasting colors Then in 58 for the spring special and in 59 one could get the sweep with an aluminum insert; monotone or with the roof in a contrasting color
