A rare find! Very collectible! Only 40 k miles!
The coolest looking car ever - drives well, some updated features.
Two things wrong with it - fuel gauge doesn't work and wipers recently went.

In 1958 the Dodge division of the Chrysler Corporation of Detroit, Michigan had three models: the Coronet, Royal, and Custom Royal. These models used the same turret as some Desotos, but had a distinctive body style of their own. All were essentially similar, with different trim lines and features.
The Coronet was the base model. It didn't have as much chrome work as the other two models, which was especially noticeable on the front with the lack of 'teeth' and dress work. They also had a different rear bumper bar which had little rubber stoppers on the corners. Ironically, the Coronet had been the top Dodge model from 1949 to 1953.
The majority of Coronets had the Getaway 6, a mighty engine in its time which produced a 123 gross horsepower. They also came out with the 325 cu inch Red Ram V8. This engine coupled with the optional PowerFlite push button two-speed transmission made it a good package to drive. The PowerFlite transmission had a 1.72 to 1 first gear which made it comparable to the GM PowerGlide. The standard transmission on all models except D500 package and option models was the 3 speed TorqueFlite automatic.

What does he mean "these models used the same "turret" as DeSotos"?

I believe he means the "greenhouse" - the part of the car from the window sills on up.

I took the turrets off my DeSoto and sold them on eBay. The Dodge turrets have 8 spangles, while the DeSoto turrets have only six.
I heard Buck Futz is offering reproductions of both types now.

Is that a turn signal light on the front fender?

... and I'm confused by "a different rear bumper bar which had little rubber stoppers on the corners." It seems that through this guy's writing style, he is aspiring to become an editor at Collectible Automobile.

He thinks that the more indecipherable jargon that he uses, the more he will sound like he knows what he's talking about. Sounds like a used car salesman to me.

Wel, he's also incorrect about his assertion that the T/Flite trannie was standard on ANY model car.

In fact, the 3-speed manual was standard on EVERY model; the T/Flite was the only optional trannie on the
CRL's and the Custom Sierra wagons; otherwise, the PowerFlite was available, along with the T/Flite, on the
Coronet, Royals, Suburban and Sierra wagons.

Without looking it up, I think that the T/Flite might have been available on the Coro 6-bangers, too, but am not
certain about that point....

I have seen this one for sale several times in the past. I think it always has roughly the same photographs - so the same person must have owned it for the past several years.
