Location: The Mile High City | Neat! The side trim is a pleasant mix of DeSoto Firedome and Plymouth Belvedere! The interior looks pure Belvedere. What a great car!

This Pulchritudinous Plodge appeared in a earlier thread on this forum and I made the quip that it was "Christine's Canadian Cousin". Now it reappears and the guy says about the same thing i did! Hmmmm.... Well, I didn't say she was "homely"! Edited by OldiesNut 2010-02-23 4:54 PM

The 1957 Chrysler NYer (the only one with that style trim on the fender) has a 4" longer fender than found on the Dodges/Plodges/Firesweeps, making the trim itself longer. Very similar though.

Expert Posts: 2524 Location: Houston | Can you imagine selling your Mopar to pay for a wedding? I'd sit my daughter down and explain to her chances are 50/50 she'll get divorced anyway, and I'm not about to sit around some lame wedding reception, looking at the cake, and thinking, "There's my steering wheel and carburetor." What happened to men, anyway?

Location: The Mile High City | Men? Long gone! This is a pretty cool car. Very sharp and it seems well priced to sell. I would question the 37,000 original miles, though - something doesn't smell right with the new seat covers, painted engine, worn steering wheel, etc. That said, I don't know if it would affect the value too much - Mayfairs are fun and seldom seen. This is a clean two-door hardtop version with a few perks like the dual rear antennae. I also wonder if this car was originally red and white. You can see the overspray on the hood springs. Again, it probably doesn't affect the value - this car is a knock-out in red and white! For the fellow who can't decide between a Dodge and a Plymouth - we bring you the Mayfair!

What happened to men, anyway? ******************************************** Hehehehehe ! Let the little booger-eaters buy their own old car, fix it all up and sell it ! I remember when my stepdaughter told me "You don't HAVE TO get me a new BMW, ... a nice used one will be fine. I'll help you pick it out." It was then we had the meeting of the minds about nothing means more to a person like when they busted their fu#@ing balls for it. In a long story of a child who thought she was born into a royal family, just one more laughable chapter in a book that did not end well for the little dear. A traditional wedding paid for by Dad ? I'd do it if my little darling arrived at this moment in a traditional way .... no shacking up, her suitor asking for her hand after an appropriate courtship. You know, all that traditional crap that used to help couples know each other and avoid making bad decisions. Just handing over money does not make the man.

Expert Posts: 2524 Location: Houston | Actually, I've found in life that the things I really had to work for I don't appreciate that much. Usually, by the time I get whatever it is, I'm so disgusted I don't enjoy it. It's the things that are good that I didn't have to work for - those are what I really appreciate. Oh well.
