Expert Posts: 2932 Location: Lemoore CA | I assume for a 59 Dodge? You could try Dennie Turner, (352)245 8346, I bought mine from him, but I think he said something about not having many left. There are other sources out there for NOS antennas, but you will pay a lot for them, I was quoted 1,200.00 by one vendor for a set. I don't believe anyone is reproducing them.

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Clive, for the antennae, as installed on that Plymmie, those guys might be OK, for that application, but for DOGGIES, it/they AIN'T even-close, to being the correct style/shape !

Expert Posts: 1444 Location: Oconomowoc Wi | Dennie seems to have been the only one with any stock of these antenna bezels correct for the Dodges. Unfortunately, he no longer has any pairs available. Matter of fact I purchased (2) unplatted left hand bezels, which I intend to mill flat ( take the left hand pitch out of them ) and make left and right hand bases at work with the correct pitch for each side. THEN send them out for plating. way too much work, but if the bezels can be machined, I hope to use them with power antennas. I'll let ya'll know more when I get my hands on them.

Dennie is out of stock on the Dodge Antenna bezels, but has a few left side only unplated bezels. I bought 2 of the unplated left bezels from Dennie. ( off eBay ) and machined the left hand pitch from both to make them equally flat. Then I made a left and right hand base out of black nylon plastic, so they will match. Now I have to find a source to do the chrome plating of the bezels. BTW... if anyone else may be thinking about trying this, the angle of the base wedge is 10 degrees. Including fanalic (spelling), and Black Nylon, which I prefered. I wish thatI had made some, but thats not the case. Bart

Location: The Mile High City | Nuts! Well, it looks like you are now the reigning expert in making those. If you are interested in making another set, let me know. Estimate a cost for your time and materials. If it is within reason; I am happy to pay! I have a grinding wheel, but it looks like I would need some woodworking equipment to make an angle cut like that. Mike

Expert Posts: 2932 Location: Lemoore CA | Hey Bart, I might be interested in a set of those machined bases also if you are interested in making a pair, I have a correct set for my 59, but I need a set of the flat bases for my 57, First off are you interested? If I bought the bases from Denny and sent them to you, what would you charge? I may not have my 57 much longer as I have someone who is interested in buying it, but if I do end up keeping it I am definately interested in putting on a set of dual rear antennas, and I would rather pay someone who has the experiance to make up the bases rather than trial and error myself.

Location: The Mile High City | Hi, Jay: My recollection is that '56 Dodges had a very different set of dual rear antennae. They were an option is '56. That said, the '57 - '59 sets would probably look very nice on a '56 Dodge!

Expert Posts: 2932 Location: Lemoore CA | If I remember correctly the 56's with dual rears I have seen have had them mounted basically on the fin, and maybe have round bases? kind of like the later Desotos. They do look nice. Here is a poor picture of one with them. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://img.prewarcar.com/pre... Edited by 5859 2007-09-14 6:07 PM

Expert Posts: 1590 Location: Scottsdale, AZ | I imagine finding '56 bases would be pretty difficult, though I'll keep my eyes open. It does look like they mount on the crown of the fin.

Veteran Posts: 112 Location: Brisbane Australia | I cast my own up in brass. Took me about 5 hours each one to sand and polish before plating. Only thing I have to do is chase up a set of the original gaskets. Regular Posts: 51 | Knight Prowler has some kool Impala dual antenna that look similar to yours http://www.execmall.com/Night%20Prowlers/NP-Mirrors%20&%20Stuff.htm For my 56 Belvedere I put them on the fins. I looked for the antenna with the smallest base and found some units at a local Autozone. Most of the base hardware for universal antenna is to large for the fins. I then got some power units to work with the small base.

Member Posts: 11 Location: Gothenburg, Sweden | Hi´ I believe that you can find new gaskets for the 57 flat antenna bases. I have seen them in some catalogue that a friend of mine have. I can check with him, who´s making them, but he is in US now, so it will probably take a couple of weeks before i can confirm this. // Ilpo

Member Posts: 11 Location: Gothenburg, Sweden | Hello Terry If you dont find new gaskets anywhere close to you, you can contact Kent and Peter here in Sweden. They have new rubber gaskets for your antennas. The shipping cost should not be too high, as they very light in weight. Visit their site on the web: http://www.kpusabil.se/ // Ilpo

Location: The Mile High City | Ilpo: Thank you! Please let me know if your friend knows where to get the flat base gaskets. Terry, those are great reproductions you made! It is amazing what folks can fabricate once the price for the originals goes sky high. Edited by Lancer Mike 2007-10-15 12:56 AM

Member Posts: 11 Location: Gothenburg, Sweden | Hi´again Sorry for this late reply. The flat base gaskets were mentioned in the catalogue, but they are not available. I am going to leave my 2 orig. gaskets to Kent and Peter (http://www.kpusabil.se), so they can copy them, and start with manufacturing of new ones. I hope that they will have them available some time in near future. Best regards // Ilpo

Expert Posts: 2244 Location: Yorba Linda, Ca | just email them, Kent speaks "God English" God = Good in Swedish, His brother Peter speaks better English than I do, and I am a native Californian. They have great service, just tell them what you are looking for, and they will let you know. We will suggest to Peter that they at least have the parts pages available in English. Good Luck , on your hunt!! Gary

Expert Posts: 1444 Location: Oconomowoc Wi | Bringing a little life into this thread. I just emailed George Iverson in Mn ( http://iversonautomotive.com/index.html )for an estimate to plate my (2) flat based antenna bases. Anyone else have a favorite plater that I could inquire for a plating estimate? These are virgine pot metal bases, never been plated so prep should be easy. Bart
