I always get In Cold Blood and the Onion Field confused; their common threads are that, altho murder is difficult to get away-with,
eventually you'll get the hang of it.

"Christine Lover" must of got his Dodge with mild patina running!

Decatur, IL. The sign says something about Miss Decatur. Taken from the "America in the 1950s" group.

The blurred car in the far background has that same paint scheme .... taxicab company colors ?

Also note on the black 58 Dodge convertible above .... while the car appears to have no other
Spring Special trim visible, it wears the largest red grille badge I have ever seen ! Pre-production ?

Unlikely, given the expensive custom painting of/on the bodies.

Really good to see another example of the Taxi company painting, to eliminate speculation regarding any
custom-car painting on that 57/58 PLY (taxi, as it turns out)....

Anyone recognize the 'year' of its dog-dish wheel cover, or its nameplate?

Ohhhh; 57 tail light; that's a clue!

This could be an export model badged as a De Soto as the spear sweeps down like the one used on the 1957 De Soto. It has an otherwise normal rear end that resembles the 1957 Plymouth and a front end that is pure Dodge. I find the US Navy crew cab Dodge truck rather more interesting. Too bad there is no indication as to where and when this shot was taken? The Dodge truck is certainly a 1966 or 67 model so it would have been taklen sometime in the late 60s.

This postcard is on eBay now, item 381014212036. Seller says Asia. It's a 58 Dodge, front clip is Dodge and body shell is Plymouth, side trim is the same as 58 Plymouth Savoy.

58 DESOTOS RULE - 2014-10-04 11:42 AM

58 Dodge

Looks like a Plodge to me: Dodge frontend, Plymouth sides and rear! Marc.
