It may be abandoned as it looks like there's no license tag on the rear. The lenses for the taillamps and back-up lamps have been broken out and there's something odd about the way the trunk lid is lying too. It looks as if someone has pried up the front edge with a crow bar or something. Probably a scene from the streets of New York City.

The '60 Plymouth looks stolen and dumped to me...

The pic is probably no later than '65 or so, too new to be abandoned one would think. And the Hillman above is not yet a Chrysler product, of course

Pat Patterson is selling a 1958 Buick Limited ! One of a little under 850 produced.

The last photo has a 61 Dodge and just barely peaking around the Rambler is a 60.

Love that tri-toned 1957 Dodge Coronet 4-door hardtop. Black top, yellow and green body from what I can make out.

I think it's a bumblebee with a nice road film dirt coating on the lower half. Note the monotone
appearance of the wheels, tires, and wheel covers.

Sad picture of the 60 Fury, look like a poor neighborhood, the newest car i can see is that 65-66 impala. The Fl cars were so out of fashion by then....like probably a 1994 Taurus today.

No, it depends on the trim level. Even the taillight surrounds are painted on the Plaza. I was lucky to find a set to of the painted version to chrome plate, as they don't have the expensive to repair pitting problem.

i wonder how out of all the cars in all these photos, how many are still around?
How many of the forward looks here do you think might be in our garages?

i once posted a postcard with a beige fury 2d ht in a town only a couple of miles away from where the original owner of my fury lived (sunnyvale,ca) when the photo was taken. given the rarity of these cars its very well possible it is my 60 fury.

There are photos of the Chicago Auto Show showing a similar depth of color appearing
Fireflite as mine on display. As my car was coded for in-house delivery, it is entirely
possible that could have been used for testing, promotional work, executive use, or even
a show turntable. A photo taken from the Lincoln display area side might help confirm
the color and sweep. The only shot I have seen is a front ender that doesn't give away
much detail.

Not many of these were built and fewer still were put into service as corporate cars. It
sure would be nice to decode "89041".

'61 Plymouth cab shot near the top of this page is Howard St in Baltimore looking N, I was living there then, it was the main downtown shopping venue. Bought my wife's engagement ring right across the street from Hecht's

The pic labeled Essex65 is Essex Junction VT , home of big IBM plant, at the infamous "5 Corners" intersection
We've always vacationed near there about 5 miles away, Mom's family has been in VT since the 1760s.

Whomver had that '53 Buick took darn good care if it! There's a 60 Chevy so it's at least 7 years old.

When I was a kid, there were still LOTS of Depression survivors who tended
to be frugal and take care of what they had. We seem to have become so much
more of a throw-away culture since then.

I often mention my disdain for being into these cars (or anything else) for "cutesy"
and contrived reasons. Owning an old car was not some American Graffiti fantasy
for those people. They did not throw money around without a lot thought and they
put a very high value on the decisions they made to buy the things they did, and by
golly, they were going to treasure those items for a long time.

Regal Lancer?

I don't think so. I think it's a trick of the lighting and reflection and the car is rather a spring special 58 dodge with the saddle paint scheme. The give away is the standard eyebrow moulding where a regal would have a wider one, and the trim on the front fender is not the regal lancer one, but rather the wide ss unit.

Could that code be a ZIP code?
