Regal Lancer?

I don't think so. I think it's a trick of the lighting and reflection and the car is rather a spring special 58 dodge with the saddle paint scheme. The give away is the standard eyebrow moulding where a regal would have a wider one, and the trim on the front fender is not the regal lancer one, but rather the wide ss unit.

Yes. The door handle appears above the trim where it's inside the trim insert on Regals.

Doctor DeSoto - 2015-01-04 7:03 PM

There are photos of the Chicago Auto Show showing a similar depth of color appearing
Fireflite as mine on display. As my car was coded for in-house delivery, it is entirely
possible that could have been used for testing, promotional work, executive use, or even
a show turntable. A photo taken from the Lincoln display area side might help confirm
the color and sweep. The only shot I have seen is a front ender that doesn't give away
much detail.

Not many of these were built and fewer still were put into service as corporate cars. It
sure would be nice to decode "89041".

Could that code be a ZIP code?

=====================================

Negative. It is a dealer code. However, 89-hundred series is reserved for corporate use
applications. The bad news is those codes are unknown at this time.

I can't remember where, but I saw more photos and the story behind that car. It's not a factory build.

I've seen that "300C" wagon before too... I think one theory was it's an accident rebuild that used a junkyard 300C clip that just happens to be a perfect fit!

Nope Jocke, rumor says that this is one of one 300 wagon (clearly based on NY) delivered like this to a prominent employee at MoPar. There should be a thread about it somewhere in our dark Deep archives:)

Spinout, normally every pic I post here that is listed jpeg shows up as a jpg file after I post it. This time , for some reason it stayed as jpeg, unlike it normally does. I tried to convert it, but could not.

I auume this is a screen grab of a late 1950s TV show.I wonder when that 1958 Chrysler Windsor had the accident that caused it to need the door repaired and repainted? It wasn't a very good job if you ask me because it sticks out like a sore thumb.

What's up with the Brand X car burn-out? We need to see a Mo Par burn out to keep it on theme.

58 DESOTOS RULE - 2015-01-11 3:13 PM

I auume this is a screen grab of a late 1950s TV show.I wonder when that 1958 Chrysler Windsor had the accident that caused it to need the door repaired and repainted? It wasn't a very good job if you ask me because it sticks out like a sore thumb.

What's up with the Brand X car burn-out? We need to see a Mo Par burn out to keep it on theme.

I'm pretty sure that screen shot of the 58 Windsor Dartline is from a Highway Patrol episode.

Spinout, normally every pic I post here that is listed jpeg shows up as a jpg file after I post it. This time , for some reason it stayed as jpeg, unlike it normally does. I tried to convert it, but could not.

Save it under a different file name...

And does anyone here use Irfanview? Please?

I use IrfanView, it's handy for resizing pics. It will compress the file again, when you save JPEG to JPG. So, use save quality near 100 for preserving the quality.

In Windows Explorer you can rename the file name extension, if it's visible. Choose Tools -> Folder Options.. -> View and then uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" and press OK.

Another way is by using Command Prompt. For example, you have an image named IMAGE.JPEG and you want it to JPG. Open CMD program, then locate the folder where the file is and type command: REN IMAGE.JPEG IMAGE.JPG and then enter EXIT. That's it and image in original quality.

A couple of things here... first 'save' quality with Irfanview...

I have re-saved your pic which was at 205kb, I saved at 43% quality, I find this plenty good enough for internet use and I don't think you'll see any difference as it's posted below. My version is 69kb and therefore loads much more quickly.

With regard to size, your pics are fine, but repeatedly we get pics here that are too big for the screen. This means that type runs off the screen, you have to scroll back and forth to read posts. Sometimes you can't even see the whole pic on the screen at once, sometimes I do a screen print and reduce it so I can see the whole pic at once!

Can people please stop posting pics over about 800pixels wide?

To change the extension, I just go to the file folder, click twice on the file name and change the extension. Frankly, I don't know what or where 'command prompt' is.
