have a perfectly working trunk system (HIGHLY unlikely, though, given that the man is 'horsing' around with moving a go-kart!)....
that allows the trunk to be positioned in any partially-opened position.

Our cars' trunks should not 'whang' open, to their full extent...but, that operational condition is better
than having to put up with this, on a daily basis.

Neil, I thought you would also comment on the incredibly poor looking door and panel fitment on that Belvedere up there!

I am starting to obsess with correcting the gaps, especially under the door, on my own Plodge.. but looking at that (then) brand new Plymouth with those gaps, I feel I should probably leave it well alone and not bother too much. All in all, it's probably not much different than what the factory did back then!

This is an interesting picture for a couple of reasons. The 1958 Imperial Limosene is flying a 49-Star US flag on the right fender and the old Hammer and Sickle flag of the USSR on the left fender. The license tag seems to be from California so it must have been one of the official cars that were detailed to ferry the Soviet leadership around during Khruschev's official visit in 1959 to Los Angeles; possibly this was the car he used. Khruschev wanted to visit Disneyland while he was in Southern California, but was refused permission. I don't know who told him he couldn't go (security concerns) but Khruschev exploded in anger.

49-Star US flags aren't that common either as Hawaii was admitted to the union as the 50th State in 1960 and made the 49 Star flags obsolete.
