50's?

Otherwise, looks like the late 40's, or 1950, in that photo.

Going back to small-town 20's would get to be boring; I'm no fan of modern technology, but, besides storefront
gossip, hi-tech in the 20's was a 'candlestick' telephone, with 'operator' connections.

"Breaking news" was via radio broadcast, or telegram.

The photo Highway "6" was taken no earlier than 1949. The Nash parked at the curb is a 1949 model, which differs from the 1950 model in the hood emblem, bumper guards and rear window. Can at least see the bumper guard.

For me, would like to go to circa 1932, when the auto manufacturers were beginning to shake off the two box shape of cars and get into flowing lines and integrated styling.

Location: Parts Unknown		when I was in college, I frequented a lot of record stores with another
musically inclined friend. We noticed early on that the music often playing
IN the record stores was bizarre, obscure, or just downright ugly noise.
We got to discussing this and the possible reasons why anyone with all
that great music at their hands to put on the turntable, they routinely chose
to play the chimpanzees banging pots and pans together.

After a few of these discussions, we decided to just ask the person behind
the counter (most of whom we knew) why they were playing that #@! ?

We got the same answer every time:

When you listen to music all day and night long, you get sick of the same
stuff, over and over .... and it ALL becomes boring when you do it day in and
day out .... that you do ANYTHING to do something different.

I think some people do the same thing when customizing cars. Some have
a better sense for aesthetics, some do not. Some just to it to be different,
regardless of whether or not it really looks good.

Neil, I'm sure you know--, but, for our viewers-- :"...Jonesing (2015-speak, for desiring something, greatly)...," Is actually 60's speak for wanting/needing a fix of anything, but mostly heroin. Named after Jones Alley in Manhattan, it was an ice cream stand for scoring smack, which is the only thing that will get me over that horrible Plymouth.
