Veteran Posts: 142 Location: Victoria, Vancouver Island, BC Canada | It may be a 60 as well....the photo is a bit grainy.....couldn't tell if there's a cyclops in the grill or not. As for being solid, the first time I recovered one of these cars I thought it was tethered to the floor....I ran a fair bit of cable before it began to lift in the sling.....weighed a ton.....

Expert Posts: 2473 Location: Dalveen, Queensland, Australia | Many were the changes to the facade of that car... While the basic body shape, with the exception of the rear (as can be seen in the above pics), remained the same for over 15 years, grilles changed (notably to exclude the early third headlight) and placement of the parking lights and the introduction of blinkers made this even more obvious. Early ones, of course, had semaphores... located there on the B-pillar between the doors.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 528 Location: Medford Oregon | First picture is on my parent's 56 Chrysler Windsor wagon in front of the Berkeley Coop. The next 2 pictures are from our trip to Europe in 1960. The VW Bus in one of them is our car. The next picture is from Australia in 1966 or 67. The last 2 pictures were taken by my parents also, but I don't know where or when.

Expert Posts: 2473 Location: Dalveen, Queensland, Australia | Hmmm... A bit more than that. It looks very much like Jack Davey, the Sydney radio personality. Davey's relationship wit Chrysler Australia was strong, he competed in 'Around Australia' trials in Chrysler Royals, one if which Chrysler bent over backwards to fit a Sure Grip for him.

Expert Posts: 1819 Location: Vancouver, BC | Here are some photos of Jack Davey. Found some of a Johnny O'Keefe, a singer, but he would have been about 23 when the 1958 Plymouth was built. The photos of Jack Davey were for a radio announcer / singer from the 1930's until his death in 1959. Expert 5K+ Posts: 7400 Location: northern germany | Sonoramic60 - 2018-11-09 10:47 PM Sid -- It sure looks like a '56 with that swept back lower "swoosh" and hint of a tail fin. I think the "American girl" one was taken in Silverton, Colorado, the northern terminus of the Durango and Silverton RR, a steam 3-foot narrow gauge line still in existence. That pink(?) Olds (Pontiac? Buick?) in the far background does seem to have white on green Colorado plates. Joe You are right Joe, didn't notice that. I think out of all FL the 55/56 Plymouths and dodges look the best with skirts.

Expert Posts: 4654 | Ray Bell - 2018-11-30 2:05 PM What are those strange looking trailers? Ray, I think a bomb was being tested in the desert at that time, so they may have been for either Civil Defense, radiation detection, or gathering samples. Edited by hemidave 2018-11-30 11:32 PM
