Pete

looks like 2 young ladies out enjoying top down motoring in their new Dodge,in the Bristol VT one apart from the '57 Plymouth there's another FL car to the left of the gas pumps. The third card is The Hair Pin Turn on the Mohawk Trail,MA which looks much the same today apart from they have moved the restaurant so to overlook the hills.

I was born a generation too late. My dad graduated in '57. These places with the diners and the massive signs and the simplistic way of life is very interesting to me. I tend to look at the buildings rather then the cars. I can look at the old cars at the shows but its the enviroment that goes through the changes. Most are sad changes.

Kinda hard to see, so small. But I'd say the roof line and color combination suggests it is a 1958.

Fantastic photos, fellas!

One of my favorites is Joakim's '59 Dodge at the campground. Note the 'kustom sky hi" side view mirror!

Two photos below, the first featuring a Sweptline pickup. (It's considered FL, right?)
The second is labeled Harrah's executives cars, 1959.

Wally Byam's Airstream Club World Tours of Europe and Africa

Wow very nice pics. I remember at 70´s when I see Airstream Club when they passed through when I lived in Motala (Sweden) But that time was no 50´s cars.
Had never seen so large camping trailers and the bare metal then. + The big cars

Hey! Coupleof 300's lurking in the background there!!

Caught an episode of History Detectives here a while back, one of the investigations
was on an Airstream trailer. during that segment they had video clips of a tour down
south of the border that showed several FL era Dodge trucks as tow rigs.

Brent, they got steaks, too, at that mex-restaurant....YUM!

Including(?) Taco Bell, and a really fine Taco-Truck(!), my town has eight authentic Mexican restaurants, two
Chinese places, but no dedicated-authentic steak house.

Neil,

If you ever get to Spokanistan, I'll take you out for an awesome steak dinner. We have this little hole-in-the-wall place that
will knock your socks off. On the other hand, for good Chinese outside of the west coast Chinatowns, try the Pekin Noodle Parlor
in Butte, Montana. Another hole-in-the-wall dive where the food is awesome. Same family owned and operated since 1890 !!!!

Thanks for the invitation, Brent!
Maybe Neil will join me on my next road trip?

This one, I didn't see it is a D500 until I scanned it (today)

Those are some terrific photos, Matt! The color photo with the '57 Fury and droptop Caddy is classic!
It appears to be a Florida tag, and is that a rust spot in front of the fender skirt on the Caddy?

And Jim, that must be a rare one, looks like a 4-door with dog-dish hubcaps on that 500!

Here are three more photos. Enjoy.
Pete

Hey! Coupleof 300's lurking in the background there!!

Caught an episode of History Detectives here a while back, one of the investigations
was on an Airstream trailer. during that segment they had video clips of a tour down
south of the border that showed several FL era Dodge trucks as tow rigs.

Suitably large tires on that 57 dodge; wonder if it was a D500?

In that condition, today...$50K, all-day.

I have no knowledge (yet) about the drop down/kick up side trim, but there appears to be grill teeth?

Even the Coronet had small teeth, and these may in fact be the larger teeth ??? But the side trim
is a dead giveaway it is either a Coronet or a mid-line Royal. Only the Custom Royal got the rear
kick-up side trim that this car does not have.

BTW - what is the car behind the Pontiac to the far right at Gaedes above ? That roof is crazy long
and flat with those opposing doglegs ..... ????
