Location: Parts Unknown | Ray's Auto Wrecking, as well as a few others, stacked their cars like that. Retrieving parts off those cars could be a REAL challenge ! I took a fall off the pile at Ray's one time and dropped about 15' to put my ass through the hatchback window of a Vega. John Fay was pulling long slivers of glass out of my backside. Good old wet and slime covered Seattle !

(It faintly reads "Building to be demolish"! ) This particular photo is a favorite, labeled "SW Harbor Drive looking north from Clay and Market, 1962" Pete (184 sw-harbor-dr-looking-north-from-clay-and-market-1962.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 184 sw-harbor-dr-looking-north-from-clay-and-market-1962.jpg (125KB - 329 downloads)

Location: Parts Unknown | The Harbor Drive shot is actually showing northbound 99 in NE Portland. Just a few miles ahead is the Riviera Motel, shown in a postcard about 15 posts back. Another 80 miles north and you could stop at Walt's Drive-In, shown just a couple posts back. My family drove this route many times on the way to visit my grandparents.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 7207 Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | To the left of the 59 Ford Wagon which is behind the delivery truck is what appears to be a 1960 Matador or Polara 2 door HT- you can make out the high rear window and the left-hand fins. There is also a 60 Dart? over in the far right lane at top

Inactive by user's request Location: Las Vegas, Nevada | 1960fury - 2011-01-30 12:51 PM 1959 fury 1961 This excellent photo illustrates what I've been saying here for months, perhaps years...with many owners personalizing their cars from the time they acquire them, why are some people here so harsh in their criticism of modifications done to vehicles over the course of four or five decades? I do not object to the pointing out of incorrectness to potential buyers, but the ridicule of the modifications, or of the current (and often novice) owner who may not know every detail of how the vehicle left the factory. If anybody wishes to engage in the noble task of returning a vehicle to its "as-built" status, more power to them. But never expect anything, be it a vehicle, house, stadium, bridge or ship, to remain as built after decades of use, misuse, abuse, neglect, etc. K.

The sports car in the midst of it all is more like an early to mid-sixties car. I think it's a Fiat. Anyone else got any ideas on this? The other taxi is a '59-'62 Zephyr Mk2.
