The 58 Plymouths (having the white wall tires) all look like they've got the Corporate Eggshell colored wheels on them.

The Dog-dish 58's look like they've got body colored wheels.

That 57 Fury looks like its got a nasty-owie on its right front tire!

The 58 Plymouths (having the white wall tires) all look like they've got the
Corporate Eggshell colored wheels on them.

The Dog-dish 58's look like they've got body colored wheels.

****************************************************

Of the MANY 58 Plymouths I have parted / worked on / inspected, that were original
unmolested cars, all full face wheelcover cars were equipped with Argent painted wheels.

I believe Big M gave the nod that this had been his experience as well, ... John ?

This subject came up over my Plaza being recovered from where it sat for decades in
a seemingly original, as built state, wearing the solid Argent wheels. Yet it is a dog dish
car.

Old photos seem to indicate that dog dishie cars *should have been* (typically were)
built with body colored wheels. Of course, we know that just about any possible exception
to a rule likely happened as the production lines shoved orders out the door, and no telling
what might have happened at the dealers to suit a buyer's request/s.

Still, it is interesting to observe these bits of evidence. I want my car to wear body color
wheels just because they highlight the el cheapo look with blackwalls and dog dishies, but I
am puzzled by why the car was found wearing Argent wheels, typically reserved for full face
wheelcovers. Maybe my assumption that because it is a Plaza and was found wearing dog
dishies, that this is how it was originally sold is incorrect ? Only getting the CHS build record
will say for sure.

As for "Corporate Eggshell", not sure what that means. Eggshell certainly wasn't standard
wheel color on Plymouths and DeSotos in 58, and if memory serves, in 57 the color for these
two was P&A Black, but I would defer to the 57 Gods on that.

I can hardly wait to get home and start working on that Plaza !

Brent, upon your joyous return to semi-civilization, you can buy your car's IBM card, and it should confirm
whether your car was built with full wheel covers on it, or not.

OMG, is that car new!

Can you imagine, that Ms. Belvie could very well have looked like this car (different colors, LOL)...if only she had been stored
inside a welded-up steel enclosure?

LAS VEGAS, 1962

Maybe one of you folks can find a FL'er in the few fleeting shots of the street . . . but no matter, this is a great little video:

P.S. you might want to turn the volume OFF on your speakers.

The last two have been posted in this thread more than once before. The latter is a private college
whose name escapes me, but was later bought by trash king Harold LeMay to house his car collection.
Rather ironic end when you see this photo.

Actually, they appear to be argent silver to me. Plymouth was the low cost car. They would never go through the expense of color-coordinating the wheels. It would slow down production.

For a brief moment I thought "That's me and my old NY'er ! .... how did someone get a picture
of that ?". Then I looked closer and the car was not NY'er and not a 2 door, and that almost looks
to be a woman. But the kicker is that stonework facade .... I rented a house at that time that
looked exactly like this one, and that 61 NY'er was seen many times looking just like this in the
driveway.

Makes me miss that car seeing this photo ....
