Expert Posts: 1363 Location: Apeldoorn, Netherlands | Doctor DeSoto - 2012-01-01 2:27 PM I just clicked on your site link and got our usual pop-up ... "THIS SITE IS DEEMED UNACCEPTABLE, POSES A SECURITY RISK, OR IS BLOCKED DURING HIGH TRAFFIC HOURS" ....followed by a bunch of mumbo-jumbo about submitting a screen shot to IT for review. Clearly, Jim .... you are a subversive and up to no good with all this old car picture stuff. What kind of propaganda machine you running here ? Well, I'll be ....! I added some FaceBook and Twitter buttons, so people can 'vote' for my website. That could be fixed by setting your browser to 'accept' my website. But that's up to you, all ...

Well, I just so happen to be in the IT (ICT, that is) AND been in the military for quite a while. Expert 5K+ Posts: 7403 Location: northern germany | FURY - 2012-01-01 2:48 AM Ray. I suggest that you have someone who knows about computers look at the issues you are experiencing on your own machine. The Ronald Regan photo you mention above does not require me to scroll sideways at all on my machine, it is nice and clear and not too big at all. It would be a shame to compromise the size and quality of these nice old photos for the sake of one person's incorrect computer settings which I suspect is the case. Speaking for myself, I prefer the photos as big and clear as possible, because if I save a photo to be able to look at later I would rather save a nice clear high resolution photo than something that has been cheapened by making it smaller or lower resolution. Just my personal opinion. Glenn. i second that. thanks

Compare photos. And you can see the flag of Canada which was at that time, the "Red Ensign", which has a Union Jack in the top left corner. Our current Flag, the Maple Leaf was officially adopted in 1965. Location: Parts Unknown | The police car ... I am assuming this is a 58 based on the lack of fender "V" and the Argent colored wheels. I thought a piece of the headlight bezel would be visible at this angle, but may it is just out of sight ??? I wonder what this car was, exactly .... a Plaza ? ... an unspecified "fleet" model ? Does it have a back seat ? Interesting car.

Yes it's best to have an archive of photos of the best possible quality. I don't think there's anything "wrong" with Ray's computer, it just has a combination of hardware and settings to reveal a smaller pixel count across the width of his monitor. Remember this is an archive---these images will outlast all of us, hopefully. Personally, I would love to see an FTP site where we could assemble really high resolution files. I have a Nikon slide scanner at work that can extract really stunning detail from 60 year old Kodachrome slides, and these are about 5500 pixels wide, 135 MB as a "lossless" TIF file. It won't be long, based on "Moore's Law" before someone can download and view an image like that in about a gazzilionth of a second, and they will be grateful that someone made the effort to think ahead.
