I like the Georgia pics, I wonder if there are any Tifton ones with Forwardlook cars and if anyone knows any of Jacksonville Fl too unless there is some somewhere in this big long thread. My uncle in Tifton had what I believe was a white 62 Chrysler back then but i don't have any pics. most are now from City or State archives such as the ones from Atlanta,Seattle,Portland etc etc.Here's one from Jacksonville .  Location: Parts Unknown | My inspiration for the 58 Plaza came from a similar light green one I saw at the very bottom of a stack of cars like those shown above. Several wrecking yards around the Puget Sound area stacked their cars like this. Made for some interesting "mountain climbing" to see what they had and spelunking to get parts out of the cars buried in the piles.  Wish I could go back ....  | ||

It's a 1959 Imperial convertible taking part in the 1958 Veterans Day parade in Jacksonville, FL but I see nothing unique about it. The picture of FT Amador in the (former) Canal Zone in Panama on the other hand is interesting - at least to me. I had a spot of temporary duty in the Canal Zone in the 1990s and I knew FT Amador very well. US Army SOUTHCOM had moved to FT Clayton from FT Amador though by the 1990s as we were beginning to wind things down in preparation of handing the land back to the Government of Panama in 1999. The gate as shown in the ca. 1959 picture had changed little when I saw it in 1995 except there were two gate guards in 1995 one an American MP and the other a Panamanian policeman. By that time we were sharing the administrarti9on of certain installations with the Panamanians. I wouldn't mind going back for a visit today. The government of Panama is building a new wider lock system for the Pacific side of the canal so that they can accommodate larger ships and the joint is really humming now.
