The Chrysler Royal was introduced in May 1957... it was never sold in 1956. Being merely a few body panel (and rear window) changes, it wouldn't have had much development time and production would have smartly followed on from the 1956 Dodge, De Soto and Plymouth cars with which it shared the chassis, drivetrain and much of its bodywork.

The production line photo could very well be from 1958, as the AP2 with the 'saddle fins' added - and these were, I believe, an option - was not released until at least late 1958.

The (too) large photo of the AP3 with its blended-in De Soto-style fins would appear to be from the early seventies. Cars in the background include a blue Falcon GT from 1969 or 1970, there's a Mk 3 (British) Ford Zephyr of approximately 1963 vintage, the white car immediately over top of the Royal's hood is a Holden from 1968 to 1971, the red utility with the black roof is a Falcon, probably the same model as the blue car.

The location is very difficult. It's not a road racing circuit, possibly a speedway or a drag strip, as the Royal seems to have NSW personalised numberplates it's quite likely somewhere in NSW.

That one is actually a Canadian 1959 Dodge Mayfair, just like my own car.. and Rimouski is where I was raised, actually only a couple of blocks from that hotel (which is still standing, but now converted into a retirement home).
