Those asbetos sidings became very popular in Sweden too (God only knows why) - no one could ever accuse them to be beautiful. Today, there's restrictions how to handle those houses and how to demount and leave them to destruction.

This image defies being able to be scanned and posted, so, here's a decent screen image of it (which has been posted
here, before...but who cares?)

Nice image, of the Windsor Assembly plant in operation:

It was undoubtedly cheap, maintenance minimal, rot-free, long lasting...

But it's not correct to call it 'asbestos'. The product is 'asbestos cement', with cement or a cement mix being the major component in the sheets, the asbestos was the perfect reinforcement for it.

If severely exposed to weather it didn't do too well, as in roofing in particular. Erosion would free asbestos to float around in the breeze. Asbestos is dangerous is breathed in, drink it or eat it and it's no problem. Like plutonium. Painted over with a weatherproof paint it's safe.

Half of Australia was built with asbestos cement sheeting through the thirties, forties, fifties and sixties. Usually unattractive, to be sure, but the economy was needed in these times.

My brother and I take those old asbestos shingles and make animal shapes of them, then
put 5-6 together into mobiles to hang over Baby's crib. We sell them on eBay.

Brand-F dealer from my hometown area advertising a '61 Plymouth from his used car department via a TV station. I remember seeing these commercials myself, during the local evening news, watching the cars drive through the TV studio and stopping on the studio's turntable as the dealer described each car being viewed. He definitely sounded more like an auctioneer, and I found myself trying to mimic him. Hey, how 'bout a Merkurry with a redio?

You suppose that they were aware that the left rear wheel had come off of the car?

That's Badwater (salty, not poisonous) in Death Valley, 282' below sea level; lowest point
in North America.

All exports to Corsica were equipped with the LR wheel missing as a cost saving measure.

Kinda like how they sold "special" cars to Canadians and elsewhere.
