That is a neat one, Ron! John (Big M) will get a kick out of that Mercury. Perhaps it was born a station wagon?

1966 was the year Chrysler gained complete control of the automotive parts of Simca. Chrysler purchased a 25% interest in Simca in 1957 from Ford. And Ford got Simca stock when it sold Ford of France (Ford Vedette, flathead V8 and all) to Simca in 1955. Not many people know Chrysler built the last Ford flathead V8 engines.

The Beaulieu was the interesting Vedette, with its 1955-56-style Mopar wraparound windshield and 1956 Dodge fins.

Late to the party, Kenny, but that IS a good one!

I can just hear that happy Simca family 'going': "La, la, La La, La", with the Dodge 'going' :"Dah DUM, Dah, DUM, Dah DUM...."

While I have seen the Beyers Motors photo before, I just now noticed the snippet of a
Plymouth fender and front wheel to the far right ... blackwalls and dog dishies on this
stripper, right next to that fancy-pants Fireflite convertible ! Something seems vaguely
familiar here.

The "lightning-bolt-hair-do" in the centre of the photo is the bride of Frankenstein! Elsa Lanchester played the role, in 1938

Cool picture, Kenny! If you look real hard, you may even see me in it. I was born in Dayton, OH in 1951 and often went downtown with my mother on Saturdays. 1960 was a good year as I was 9 years old then.

RTA still runs electric trolley buses in Dayton to thie day, but the usual livery is green and not so much the gold color of the old City Transit company.

That 58 Plymmie vert, above, was going so fast, when it hit that 58(?) Linc, that it pushed it sideways, until the Linc came
up against the curb, while the PLY was still moving, so that the Linc got cantilevered right up and over the curb!

In the above photo of the 60 PLY GA State patrol, the tread pattern looks 'highway' pattern, but the sidewall shape, and the
thin stripe appears to indicate that it might be wearing Goodyear Blue Steak (high speed) tires.

That '60 patrol car also had window shades. A somewhat rare option.

"It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World"! - a real goody!

I think that Mickey Rooney is the only person left in the photo who is still alive? Just saw him during a cruise in January...still kicking at 92, and still feisty!
