I would guess that is the old Flamingo hotel and casino building in las vegas There were some truly stunning buildings there and they've all pretty much been torn down to make way for bigger ones. Fremont st has most of its original buildings but it has drastically changed.

Your race car photos will get lost/buried, in this huge thread.

Other finned cars that are spectator, push vehicles, or tow rigs, I usually post here.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 7403 Location: northern germany | Doctor DeSoto - 2013-04-27 8:59 AM Is that Jimmy Stewart's Firedome 2HT from Vertigo on the right ???? nobody knows. this is the famous "twin". actually jimmys car should be the one out of which they filmed that scene/the ride thru sf in 57. this is a great film. i wonder what happened to stewards 56 desoto. speaking of vertigo did you see what the ..... owner of "madeleins house" named suleiman did to it 2012? i couldn't believe it. Extreme Veteran Posts: 390 | 56 Cruiser - 2013-04-25 8:39 PM My Dad's 59 Swept Wing with my hubcaps on it Do you recall when the picture of the Sweptside was taken? Is the paint on the truck original? I have always believed that the lettering on the tailgate was not highlighted on these trucks and if yours has not been repainted, I'll consider this photo to be proof. Also, are the taillights 1959 wagon style? They look like the same lights that were on my '58 Sweptside. I find it absolutely heartbreaking that so many of these trucks are being "restored" when actually they're being horribly mucked up.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 329 Location: Claremore, Okla. | The picture was taken in 1964 - I had just bought the white sport fury new 383 4 spd & 2 weeks later Dad bought the blue belv new it was a 318 auto & I later owned it too when I got out of army in 1970 - Dad bought the p/u used in 1963 & as far as I know it had never been repainted. Elite Veteran Posts: 769 Location: Oley, PA | I bought this postcard last week at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and opened in 1959, the Guggenheim is the perfect backdrop for a picture of a Forward Look car. I thought it was cool that they are still selling this postcard. As an aside, this is one awesome art museum. The building is an integral part of the experience.
